Pentecost Message from the Pastor

My dear parishioners, Pentecost is a revelation of God and Birthday of His Church. Wind and divine fire are common because both are symbols of wild, uncontrollable power.  We see God as He is, unbounded, wild, uncontrollable, and free. The experience leaves witnesses staggering and confused like the apostles and disciples who were accused on this day of being drunk.
When the Most High descended, He blessed the tongues, dividing the nations; but when He distributed the tongues of fire, He called all into Unity; wherefore, with one accord, we glorify the All Holy Spirit” – so, let us pray - Heavenly King, Advocate, Spirit of Truth, Who are everywhere present and fill all things, Treasury of Blessings and Bestower of Life, come, and dwell within us; cleanse us of all that defiles us, and, O Good One, save our souls…
The Holy Spirit is God’s Special Gift for the Christian. Jesus Said in Luke 11:13, How much More shall your Heavenly Father Give the Holy Spirit to them that Ask Him. Receiving Jesus will give you Power to be a Child of God.
On this festive day we decorate our homes and churches traditionally with green branches of trees and flowers; this is to remind us that the feast of the Pentecost, Holy Trinity, and specially - Holy Spirit is the feast of Eternal life. More importantly we must strive to embellish our hearts and souls to receive the power of the Spirit of God.
Let us cleanse our souls through repentance and prayer, let us fill our souls with the love of of our neighbors and charitable deeds. Then the Holy Spirit will dwell in us.
Receiving the Holy Spirit will give you Power to Serve Christ and His Church by being His Anointed Witness. Let us Reach out as part of Catholic Church with arms open wide in Faith, and Say, Yes Lord, I take what you give, Fill me with the Holy Spirit! It is in the heart that Christ dwells and it is within that the Holy Spirit directs us.
Fr. Mykhaylo, Pastor.
